Former police officer Max Rockatansky continues to roam the inhospitable Australian outback alone. When his vehicle is stolen, he suspects both the vehicle and the thief in Bartertown. The inhabitants of this post-nuclear city live mainly from bartering. However, Bartertown is divided in two: upstairs rules the founder and lawmaker Aunty Entity, downstairs the team of Brain and Muscles called Master-Blaster. They also control the city´s power supply, thereby keeping Aunty Entity dependent. Max is offered a deal by her: he is to compete against Master Blasters in the infamous Thunderdome, a gladiator cage for bloody duels...
