Three years after the Clone Wars, the leader of the Separatists, General Grievous, has kidnapped Chancellor Palpatine. The two Jedi Knights, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker, undertake a daring rescue attempt, which also leads to a deadly duel with Count Dooku. They succeed in freeing the Chancellor, but Anakin feels that the Jedi Council does not sufficiently appreciate him and his abilities. At the same time, he is plagued by visions of the impending death of his pregnant wife, Padme. He is determined to do whatever it takes not to lose a loved one again. While Obi-Wan pursues General Grievous, his concerned Padawan finds a sympathetic listener in Chancellor Palpatine...
